By using our mobile application (available on Google Play Store) or web portal ("Services"), you agree to the terms described in this policy.

03 How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to deliver and improve our educational platform:

Provide core services: Enable access to attendance, results, homework, fee details, timetables, and study materials.

School ecosystem communication: Allow messaging and notifications between known users (e.g., teacher-to-parent messages) within the same school.

Push notifications: Send timely alerts about exams, attendance, fees, homework deadlines, and school announcements via Firebase Cloud Messaging.

Improve functionality: Use anonymous usage patterns and crash reports to fix bugs, optimize performance, and add useful features.

Security and compliance: Protect against fraud, unauthorized access, and abuse. Comply with legal obligations under Indian law.

We do NOT:

Sell or rent your personal data to any third party.
Use your data for behavioral advertising, especially targeting children.
Share student data with external organizations outside the school ecosystem without explicit consent (except as described in Section 4).

4.1 Within Your School Ecosystem

Your educational data (attendance, results, fees) is visible only to authorized users within your school — such as class teachers, administrators, and the student's parent(s). Users from other schools cannot access your data.

4.2 Service Providers (Technical Partners)

We use trusted third-party services that help operate our platform:

Firebase (Google): Used for push notifications and basic analytics. No ad targeting of children is enabled.
Azure / Cloud Hosting: Infrastructure services that securely host our application and database.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose personal data only when required by law or government authorities (e.g., court order, regulatory investigation) under applicable Indian laws.

4.4 Business Transfers

If ExamActive is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the new entity under confidentiality obligations consistent with this policy.

06 Children's Privacy

Important for Parents:

ExamActive is used by students under the age of 18. Student accounts are created and managed exclusively by parents/guardians or school administrators — children cannot register independently.

Our Commitment to Minors

No independent registration: A child cannot sign up on their own; an adult (parent/guardian/school staff) must create the account.
Minimal data collection: We collect only what is needed for educational purposes — no unnecessary personal details from minors.
No behavioral advertising: We do not show ads to children. No ad networks that profile or target minors are used on our platform.
No data selling: Student data is never sold, rented, or shared with advertisers.

Mobile App: The ExamActive app does not use tracking cookies. It uses limited device identifiers only for push notifications (via Firebase) and technical diagnostics.

Web Portal: Our website may use essential cookies to maintain your login session, remember preferences, and ensure secure access. We do not use third-party tracking pixels or analytics that build user profiles for advertising.
